I visited the Ramgarhia Hospital at Meerut last Sunday. I had to go there to see one of my relatives who had been admitted there as he had met a road accident a few days earlier.

It was a big hospital. A big Red Cross Mark was there on a road signboard affixed quite near the hospital.

The hospital had two gates, one for vehicles and one for pedestrians. Since I went there in my car, I entered the large gate and parked my car at the parking place at some distance from the gate.

I went straight to the Surgery Ward after getting a chit from the receptionist sitting in a cabin near the gate. It was the visiting time and I was allowed to go straight to my relatives.

I found my relative in plasters. His leg had been fractured and had got some injuries on his arm also as his scooter had collided with a running car. He had fallen headlong on the road fortunately, he was wearing a helmet otherwise, his life would have been in danger.

The relative was in a cheerful mood and I was surprised to see him in, such a state. I had expected that most probably, he would be crying with pain.

The relative told me that the attending doctors and nurses and ward boys were all very good people. They were competent in their respective jobs. I was glad to learn that he was going to be discharged within the next two-three days.

However, as I was coming out of the hospital, I saw many men and women wailing loudly. One of their relatives had died, as the doctors in spite of their best efforts, could not save his life.
